Hey y’all and welcome to Magnolia Moms. When we think of a magnolia we think: Southern, beautiful, feminine, and dignity. When we think of moms we think of: hard working, loyal, caring, loving, very tired, yet strong. So when you think about it a Magnolia Mom she is strong yet delicate. She is raising a traditional family in a modern world while trying to stay true to her Southern roots and traditions while embracing a new, modern world.
We are so excited that you are here to follow our stories of family, travel, entertaining, and good health. We built this community for moms to have a place to come and seek advise, support, and we hope a laugh to brighten your busy day! Welcome to our home and y’all come back anytime.
Take a minute to meet our team. Emily Montgomery Hunt, our founder was raised in Vicksburg, MS. She is a graduate of Delta State University where she majored in Marketing. The past 12 years, Emily has been in the financial services business. Her work has taken her around the southeast, living in Baltimore, MD; Savannah, GA; Lafayette, LA; and now she is back home in Mississippi. Emily and her husband, Chris, have two girls, ages 4 and 6. She loves Mississippi State football, beach vacations, time spent with her best girlfriends and she could live on salsa, chips and unsweetened tea alone!
Emily’s partner in crime, Angela Trippe, works as Magnolia Mom’s editor and chef. Angela is a mom to one five year old boy and a ten year old poodle who thinks he’s human. She has been married to her husband for twelve years and has been a resident of Rankin county for twenty years. She has a Social Work degree from Delta State University and also earned her teaching license from Mississippi College. After working ten years in the school system, she stayed at home with her son. She currently works at a local Mom’s Morning Out program. Making crafts, listening to music from the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s, and going on beach vacations with her friends are a few of her favorite things.
